Post Poll Priorities
It has been 7 weeks since the July 2 election. The coalition was returned to power under the slimmest of margins and clearest of mandates. The government was sent a message – the people of Australia will no longer tolerate the nonsense that has spewed out of Canberra over the past 10 years.
Did the message get through? So far, there is very little evidence that it did. Yes, there has been lots of talk, but no genuine action to return Australia to its former economic strength.
The cartoon above exaggerates the reality of course, but at least highlights most of the reports the media has given attention to since the election.
